Join us for an informal conversation amongst a few of this year’s DocLands filmmakers. Steered by their experiences and personal thoughts pertaining to making films, we plan to explore various methods they may choose to capture—and hold— audience attention. What techniques do they use that lead to stronger buy-in from an audience? Compelling characters? Suspense and anticipation? Situations and themes that resonate emotionally? Color palettes and cinematography to evoke emotions? Sound design and music? What works best when the topic is urgent? This discussion might prove enlightening for filmmaking, but perhaps for everyday life too!
